About this work
Caricature on the very temporary nature of organizational measures, while reorganization and disorganization are lurking, 1798. A speaker on a scaffold addresses the public, others stand ready (under the leadership of a shipwright with an axe) to saw through the legs of the scaffold. On the right in the foreground, Midas and Janus are fighting each other, and figures in the clouds dance, incited by devils. Probably in connection with the adoption of the Constitution on 19 May 1798.
