Allegory on the return of the looted objects of art and science to Antwerp, 1815. A wagon with painting chests drives into the city through the Keizerspoort of Antwerp. On the left in the foreground, the city maiden of Antwerp brings the good news of the return of the objects to the personification of Art, who sits mourning in a tent. On the right, the draughtsman Verellen records the scene, observed by the publisher Groenewoud. In the clouds sits the trio, the heroes of Waterloo: the Prince of Orange, Blücher and Wellington.
