About this work

Allegory on the liberation of the Netherlands and the fall of the French in 1813. The unleashed Dutch Lion with a bundle of arrows in his claws tramples a yoke, field sign, and shackles and drives away the French rooster. On the sheet below the plate, a verse in three couplets in German.
