About this work

Centrally, a tobacco plant 'Regie' in a glass bottle marked 'Vereenigde Rechten', to the left a barrel of tobacco, to the right a sack of coffee beans. Rats with names like 'kelderrot', 'controleur', and 'Dronke Rot' crawl over everything. In the background, French customs officials flee from the Netherlands.
