About this work

The bombardment of Algiers in the night of 26-27 August 1816 by the combined Anglo-Dutch fleet, under the command of Lord Exmouth and Jonkheer van Capellen. On the left and right the burning ships of the pirates, in the middle the town situated on a hill. In the foreground several boats. On the right a coastal battery with a flag.
