Monument for the third centenary of the Reformation, 1517-1817. Allegorical representation with on the left the entrance to a temple against which medallions with portraits of church reformers are hung. At the top center the portrait of Martin Luther, in the middle Calvin. In the doorway of the temple stands Religion trampling Envy and Slander, also accompanied by Constancy and Hope. On the left, a crowned woman burns indulgence letters and other pamphlets (including those by Rousseau) in the fire of hell. In front of the temple, virtues such as Faith and Hope guide the faithful toward the temple. In the background, scenes from the Bible. The print is accompanied by a separate explanation.
