About this work
Twelve persons in costumes from various cities, on the street in front of a city inn, ca. 1820-1830. According to the inscriptions under the title, these are women from the places Zaandam and Hindeloopen, a woman from the upper bourgeoisie, and other persons with the professions of caller, wine seller, maid, and milkmaid. The two children are indicated as orphans. See also the pendant.
