The departure of the twelve Dutch merchant ships from the port of Portsmouth, after the lifting of the embargo, 2 June 1833. The British embargo had been imposed around November 1832 to pressure the Dutch to hand over the Citadel of Antwerp to Belgium. All Dutch ships in British ports were thereby chained.
