Satirical print on the plans of Minister Thorbecke to abolish the University of Utrecht, 1863. Centrally the University of Utrecht as a fortress defended by a number of professors (Opzoomer, Miquel, Mulder etc.). Under the leadership of Prof. Vreede a group of students makes a sortie against a monster (Thorbecke). In the moat a number of boats with students and professors (Harting, Hoek, Millies).
