Satirical print on colonial policy. The members of the conservative party dance around the golden calf 'Colonial Preservation' while Van Nierop plays the violin. In the foreground Fransen van de Putte, as Moses, smashes the stone tablets. Plate published in the weekly De Nederlandsche Spectator, no. 21, 26 May 1866.
