About this work
Two depictions of the cruelties committed by the French troops in Dutch villages in the year 1672. In the upper depiction French soldiers drag a man, woman and child behind an ox over the ground. Below soldiers shoot at people trying to flee with a boat. Possibly the events at Waverveen and Botshol.
