About this work
Bacchus, crowned with vine leaves and grapes, stands in a landscape with a thyrsus and a bunch of grapes in his hands. He crushes the bunch of grapes and lets the juice be caught in a small bowl held by a maenad. The child sitting with the maenad tries to catch some of the grape juice. On the right in the background, maenads play the flute.
