Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea laying the dead body of Christ on the ground at the foot of the cross. Mary, John and the three Marys kneeling by the body. In the background the Resurrection of Christ and the Anastasis, where Christ descends into hell, here represented as a fortress.
