About this work
Bust of a young man with a mustache and beard, a wide loosely pleated collar around the neck, a sprig in the left hand, in an oval with a border inscription. Motto: Patientia Victor. To the left of the oval is his coat of arms. The portrait has once been incorrectly identified as Du Laurier. It may be a portrait of Jacob Claesz.
