About this work
A soldier, full-length, to the right, holding a roer (a type of firearm) with his left hand by his left thigh and with his right hand brings his ramrod into the barrel, to push powder and bullet (no. 26), ca. 1600. Plate 26 in the instructions for handling the roer: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, belanghende t'rechte ghebruyck des Roers.
