About this work
In the middle, a woman sits on a golden throne and combs her hair; to the left behind the throne stands a maid with a tray holding a carafe and two cups; to the right in front of the throne stands a third woman in a basin washing her hair. The representation is framed by a narrow grey frame with frame lines in red and yellow, and around it a broad purple border speckled with gold and a grey frame line.
