About this work

The royal couple sits facing each other in a fairly geometric composition with much decorative textile on colored carpets; each parent has a child on their lap and between the two carpets stand two children with their arms outstretched towards Krishna on their mother's lap; on the white carpet with gold motifs in the foreground four children are playing, two cows look up at Krishna and a cow serves as a toy for the child in the bottom right. Around the image several decorative borders in plain gray with gold frame lines, royal blue with white frame lines, and a wider orange-red border with gold and white frame lines; some damage to the image and borders with heavy damage.
