A maid is attending to her mistress's feet in a room in a palace; in front of the ladies stand an oil jug and a small dish. The image is framed by a thin blue decorative border within a frame of red and gold lines, the outer frame lines being filled with a block motif that is repeated in the frame lines of the outer decorative border, which contains a stylised flower and diamond pattern in pink, gold and green on an ochre background; the wide border is outlined by a thin brown painted plain border.
