About this work

On a gold-colored chair on a terrace sits a lady dressed in red; in her left hand she holds the hose of the hookah standing to her right, to her left a bowl from which pigeons are pecking, and in the background three pots with blooming plants; in the center foreground on the terrace two leaves with carafes and jars. The scene is framed by lines of black, red, and white, a gold border around the inner edge, the outer edge of the sheet is sky blue with golden leafy vines, the vertical borders are narrower than the horizontal ones, around the painted border more framing lines in white, red, and black, also filled with a gold border in the middle.
