About this work

The verso is painted upside down with erotic scenes of Krishna and Radha in a panel occupying most of the leaf; on the left, a small piece of ancient Indian script is visible; on the right, a rider with a lotus arrow and bow on an elephant with a horned back (drawn in black outline). The piece of palm leaf is mounted in a blue passepartout so that both front and back are visible.
