About this work

Vishnu in his incarnation as the tortoise sits on Mount Meru, which serves as a churning rod for the churning of the ocean of milk. The scene is framed by a narrow white border, surrounded by a broad orange-red decorative border with black frame lines; this sheet is mounted on a sheet of cardstock on which a black frame line has been drawn in pencil.
