About this work

A woman stands on a low stool and wrings out her hair after a bath. A peacock on the terrace stretches its neck to catch the drops of water. The peacock is a symbolic representation of the lover and refers to a number of sayings. Long and thick hair was considered an important characteristic of beauty, and loose hair had erotic connotations.
