About this work
A lady stands on a terrace enclosed by red railings; in her raised right hand she holds a small bowl, and her equally raised right arm makes beckoning motions toward a bird sitting in the branches of a tree; in front of her on the ground stands a birdcage ready. The image is framed by pasted, uneven vertical and horizontal orange strips with a black frame line; these strips are quite mottled.
