About this work

A camel and a giraffe. Numbered top right: 7. With inscription that this giraffe was visible in Constantinople in 1568. Part of the second album with drawings of quadrupeds. Second of twelve albums with drawings of animals, birds and plants known around 1600, made on commission of Emperor Rudolf II. With explanations in Dutch, Latin and French.
