Buttercup. Probably a buttercup, but four- instead of five-petaled. Numbered 137 in the upper right. Latin name in the upper right. Part of the second album of drawings of flowers and plants. Ninth of twelve albums of drawings of animals, birds and plants known around 1600, made on commission of Emperor Rudolf II. With commentary in Dutch, Latin and French.
