Behind them, the rich man sits at a table where musicians are playing. In the kitchen, a monkey watches as a chicken is plucked; in the center, a woman works with a mortar. In the foreground lie fish, eggs, and vegetables. The painting is related to an engraving by Johannes Sadeler I, after a painting by Bassano.
