Family portrait of the Amsterdam Mennonite family Brak in an interior seated around a table before a mantelpiece. From left to right: minister Jan Brak (1717-61), his brother Pieter Brak (ca. 1714-after 1778), his father Harmen Brak (died 1768), his sister-in-law Margaretha Hasselaar (1726-80/83) with her husband Cornelis Brak (1724-82). Standing in the foreground is their eldest daughter with a doll, Margaretha (born 1752) sits on her mother's lap. To the left a view through to the library.
