About this work
The Deluge. In a landscape ravaged by flood, a large crowd of people tries to cling to Noah's Ark or save themselves with boats and rafts. Birds sit on the roof of the Ark. In the distance a city lies at the foot of a fantastic mountain range. At the top in the sky four wind heads. The representation goes back to various 15th-century Italian prints.
