About this work
Allegory of Peace. An unarmed Mars rests his arm on the shoulder of the personification of Peace. Around the pair, who are seated at the foot of a tree, several putti are busy collecting and storing weapons or sawing them. To the left a putto with an olive branch and a dog on a leash. To the right a servant with banners and weapons in his arms.
