About this work
Trompe l'oeil: a white marble sculpture in a brown marble niche. Above the niches, representations are also depicted in trompe l'oeil, in grisaille on a black ground. Bacchante with a dog and a bowl of grapes, her foot resting on a basket of coins. The bacchante leans against a tree trunk. The niche is decorated with a climbing branch. The frieze depicts the muses: dance and music. On the left, an amphora lies on the ground.
