About this work
Against the background of the Hofvijver in The Hague, Maurice passes with his bodyguard and retinue. The figure to his right is his younger brother and successor, Frederick Henry. Directly behind them stand the most important court servants. All wear elegant, fashionable clothing. <BR />The richly dressed woman on the left is possibly Maurice's beloved Margaretha van Mechelen.
