About this work
The halting of the advancing troops at Hofstede Welna on the Amstel during the attack by Prince William II on Amsterdam, 31 July 1650. A long procession of horsemen is preceded by heralds and drummers. The population has gathered on the left and right to watch the spectacle. A river with boats on the left.
