About this work
Christ wades through a river with the help of a staff. On his back he carries the Christ child as Salvator Mundi. The child Jesus sits on a globe of the world, consisting of a glass globe and a cross. On the bank stands a hermit with a lantern under his tree hut. On the other riverbank a settlement with a stranded whale on the beach.
