About this work
Carved and gilded frame in Spanish or Italian style with a reverse profile. Running along the outside is a border with an ogee profile. Across the middle the frame has a high, convex border with bundles of laurel leaves with berries and bundles of oak leaves with acorns, running from the centers to the corners. In the centers of the rails and stiles the frame has a flower shape and at the corners an acanthus leaf. Inside the frame has a wider, concave border, then a narrower one along the day edge.
