About this work

This square textile is made of fine piña fiber in plain weave. It has a wide hand-embroidered cotton border on all sides, featuring scalloped edges and repeating floral and geometric motifs. Small embroidered floral elements are scattered across the interior field. This object was probably worn as a fichu or neck covering.
