The depicted persons (from left to right) are: the road master Jakob Linder (born 1834, date of death unknown), the wooden floor maker Christian Zobrist (1834–1909), the timber merchant and raftman Gottlieb Fuchs (1829–1912), the mountain guide Melchior Michel (1835–1910) [seated], the innkeeper and baker Fritz Wenger (1847–1926) [seated], and the carver and tree warden Johannes Flück (1837–1922) [standing, partially obscured] (Huggler 1981, p. 49.
