About this work
The Zug cantonal coat-of-arms pane reveals, in the vine-work decoration of the arch and also in the somewhat stiff figures compared with other works of roughly contemporary stained glass, still adhering to Late Gothic style. The attributions expressed by earlier research to Martin Moser, active in Lucerne (Lehmann 1941), or his Zurich contemporary Ulrich Ban II (Wyss 1968), can only be cited as working hypotheses. Wyss considers the possibility that the pane dated 1535 was intended for the town hall of Baar.
