About this work
The stained-glass painter, cautiously identified by Ganz in 1966 with Marx Sigmund Vischer the Elder, shows influence from Ludwig Ringler. The Sulzer coat of arms with skull and shroud could be taken from the pane donation of the theology professor for the university (cf. G 12). There is also the scene of Moses and the bronze serpent in the upper image zone, albeit in a different composition, which is supplemented in the present pane by the Fall of Man.
