About this work
Exterior panel separated according to the identical board division from Inv. 644 (Antipater before Julius Caesar). Right panel from the upper register of the left exterior wing of the Basel Mirror of Salvation Altarpiece, which was probably painted around 1435 for St. Leonhard in Basel. The lost left panel of the right wing must once have shown the corresponding Annunciation Mary immediately next to it.
