Kennedy Space Center, Fla. — Space Shuttle Atlantis reaches the top of the launch pad after a mid-day rollout from the Vehicle Assembly Building. Next to the Shuttle are the Rotating Service Structure (open) and the Fixed Service Structure, which holds the 80-foot lightning mast on top. The Shuttle sits on top of the Mobile Launcher Platform, which rests on the crawler-transporter.
