Covered Cup

Oversized, two-handled, tulip-shaped covered cup or vase on a flared pedestal base with gadrooned circular domed foot and a gadrooned-edge, bell-shaped cover topped by a screwed-on pinecone or pineapple finial. Body has an empty, asymmetrical C-scroll on front, set amidst repousse chased and stamped flowers and acanthus leaves. Two plain, hollow, D-section, S-curve handles have heart terminals. Cover is stamped on collar exterior with date letter "n" in a shaped surround and a lion rampant in rounded-corner rectangle. Vase is struck with four marks on underside of rounded bottom, conjoined script "AN" in a scalloped rectangle, a lion rampant in rounded-corner rectangle, crowned leopard's head in rounded-corner surround, and date letter "n" in a shaped surround.
