Circular urn-shape pitcher on a beaded, conical pedestal base with matching, hinged lid topped by a cast bulbous vase that covers the inset curved spout. Flat-chased and engraved floral and strapwork designs decorate the incurved neck and ovoid body. Bands of large beads at rim and bottom of neck and base. Cast, leafy scrollwork S-curve handle has a flared shell or fan for the upper socket and a split-scroll lower terminal. Underside of rounded bottom is struck with an incuse circular mark for "R[OGERS, SMITH &] CO." curved around "NEW / HAVEN / CONN." Underside of pedestal is scratched "182". Used with stand DL.60.1147; from same service as teapot, DL.60.1146A.
