About this work
This refined red stoneware teapot received an additional layer of clay to emulate the colour of Yixing teapots. Beginning in the 18th century, the Chaozhou and Shantou regions of Guangdong province began making teapots mimicking the stoneware produced in Yixing. While most of the teapots originating from Guangdong are coarser than their Yixing counterparts, this teapot stands as an exception.
