Gu-shaped vase of porcelain with a round thickening in the middle and a spreading neck, painted in underglaze blue. On the wall bands with persons and flower pots in petal-shaped compartments. At the top a band with the Eight Immortals; below a band with alternating a sitting woman (long robe) or a flower pot on a stool. On the thickening alternating a woman (long robe) in an enclosed garden or a flower pot on a low table; above flower branches. The lower band with eight musical women in front of a fence; above flower branches. Above and below the thickened middle part and on the inner rim a band with a zigzag pattern. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Jiajing in a double circle. A crack in the rim. Blue and white.
