About this work

Rectangular, hexagonal pattipan of porcelain with ribbed wall, painted on the glaze in red, black, and gold. On the flat surface a crowned double monogram with 'P.S.' on the left and 'A.J' [?] on the right; the crown is supported by two trumpeting angels. Below the monogram a worn inscription with '1762'. The inner wall with a decorative band in the Viennese Du Paquier style with two peacocks in cartouches. European representation in encre de Chine.
