About this work
Rectangular, hexagonal pattipan of porcelain with lobed wall, painted on the glaze in black and gold. On the flat, a European couple each holding a cup, surrounded by leafy vines; on the wall, floral vines on scrollwork; the inner rim with a meander pattern with half-flowers. European representation in encre de Chine.
