About this work

Cup with handle and saucer of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the base of the saucer the coat of arms of the families Gordon and Forbes. The coat of arms is divided into four quarters with Gordon in 1. and 4. with three boar's heads against a blue background; 2. and 3. Forbes with three heads on a light blue background. The crest is an arm with a sword and the inscription 'CORDE MANUQUE'. On the inner rim a spearhead border. The cup with the same decoration with on either side of the coat of arms a cartouche with a landscape. The handle has been broken. Coat-of-arms porcelain with enamels.
