About this work

Porcelain dish, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, yellow, black and gold. On the flat of the dish the coat of arms of the Gordon and Forbes families. The coat of arms is divided into four quarters with Gordon in 1 and 4 with three boar's heads against a blue background; 2 and 3 Forbes with three heads on a light blue background. The crest is an arm with a sword and the inscription 'CORDE MANUQUE'. On the inner rim a spearhead border. Coat of arms porcelain with enamel colors.
