About this work

Bell-shaped porcelain cup, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, black and gold. On the wall, a lobed cartouche with a European woman and a man with a mandolin on a terrace in front of a building, a small dog playing in front of the balustrade; in the background a castle; around the cartouche half-flower rosettes and leaves. On the inner rim a 'spearhead-border'. European subject in enamel colors and encre de Chine.
