About this work

Bell-shaped cup and saucer of porcelain painted on the glaze in black and gold. On the flat of the saucer a medallion with a Dutch landscape with houses on a river in which two manned boats sail; the cup with twice a sitting figure in a European landscape with a tree, rocks and buildings in an oval medallion; on the bottom a house between trees behind a hill. A crack in the wall of the cup. Possibly decorated in Europe. European representations in Encre de Chine.
